Carefully

• Measured battery output voltage with battery switch off: 0V

• Measured battery output voltage with battery switch on: 0V

  • Makes sense - I believe the fuse is blown

• Switched battery switch off again

• With some difficulty, removed the fuse cover and old fuse

  • Especially careful during this step - the fuse contacts are exposed and there's no fuse in the system (since I just took it out) so if something falls in and shorts the fuse contacts, I'll have a live battery with no overcurrent protection - yikes!

• Old fuse is definitively blown - compare to a fresh fuse:
  

• Carefully slotted in the new fuse

• Replaced fuse cover

• Measured battery output voltage with battery switch off: 0V

• Measured battery output voltage with battery switch on: 38 Volts!
